Success at the Australasian Marist Netball Championship
Trinity 4th overall in the Championship division with Maddie Walsh being selected in the All Australian Marist Netball Team and Lauren Sculley in the All Australian Marist Highly Commended Team.
Marist Basketball Carnival
The 20th Marist Basketball Carnival finished with the most thrilling and closest final you could imagine: Sacred Heart College Adelaide defeating Marcellin College Bulleen by 76 to 75. The winning basket was scored with less than 2 seconds remaining. The girls' final was also an excellent see-sawing game but eventually catholic College Sale defeated Lavalla Catholic College Traralgon by 46 to 41.
The Trinity boys team finished 4th and the girls finished 6th in very high standard competitions.
MVP's for Trinity were Marty Deaker and Amy Waddell. Probably the high point of the carnival for Trinity was when James Whitby, the carnival's second highest point scorer, was named in the very prestigious Marist V.
Congratulations to all teams for the manner in which they played the game.
Participating in the ANZAC Day march was one of the highlights for many of the visiting players and coaches. Very few of these teams had participated in anything like this before and they were surprised by the support and interest shown by the local community.
An incredible amount of time and hard work had gone into the preparation for the carnival by cohosting schools Trinity and St John's - in the end it all paid off as this was the largest Marist Basketball Carnival ever and it ran without a problem.

They also have the opportunity of travelling throughout Australia to represent their school in the Australian Marist carnivals in Cricket, Netball and Basketball. Trinity was also a founding member of the Northern Rivers Catholic Colleges Sports Association whose sole aim is to promote a variety of sports in a spirit of friendly competition between like minded Catholic Schools in the area.
